Ep. 22: Luke V. Snoke header

I’m back after a hiatus to bring you an update on my Worlds prep (yes, I’m going!). This past weekend, rather than grind some games through the competitive gauntlet, Greg and I mixed things up by staging another sealed box battle featuring discounted boxes bought on Amazon. We each cracked a box from Way of the Force, making some great pulls to add to our respective collections. I go over who cracked what and discussed the decks that we each built in preparation for the battle. Finally, I recap the three games we played and some trades we made at the end of the night. Then, as always, I crack a pack!

Episode 18: Strength in Numbers

Greg and I take a hiatus from the Convergence block and go back in time, playing a sealed box battle from last year’s Legacies set. These boxes were picked up a couple of months back for a mere $26 when they were Amazon’s Deal of the Day. I really love playing sealed events because there’s so little preparation required and there’s also the thrill of the unknown with what you’re going to pull. Playing from an entire box means you don’t even need a draft kit — just sleeves and tokens and you’re ready to go. I spend a few minutes discussing strategies for buying sealed boxes on the cheap, and then go over some of the pulls from both of our boxes. Finally, I recap the three games we played and some trades we made at the end of the night. Then, as always, I crack a pack!

Episode 15: Power Surges and Survey Results

It’s time to recap Round 2 of the Convergence Box sealed event between me and Greg. We finally cracked all six legendaries, and it turned out to be a good box — no Crime Lords! I’ll report on who went home with which legendaries, while also praising Greg for a selfless act of kindness. The second half of the show features Greg and I breaking down some of the data from my Convergence Legendaries Box Pulls Survey. We discuss legendary distribution, best and worst boxes in terms of monetary value, and how the survey could be improved for Spark of Hope. Thank you to everyone that submitted their pulls — we have 375 boxes reported in to date!

Episode 14 Shock Collar FTW header

Who’s ready to talk some Destiny? On this episode, I break down my first experience with the Allies of Necessity draft kit, as Greg and I crack into our split box of Convergence for a sealed battle. Next, I talk about some recent standard games running Grievous/Armored Reinforcement and then Palpatine/Dengar. Spoiler alert: Turns out the latter one is not so good.
