Ep. 21: Commandos Everywhere

Episode 21: Commandos Everywhere header

I’m back with a report on some of my recent Star Wars Destiny decks. I decided to put the Mandalorian Super Commando to work in not one but two big-little decks! First he joins Captain Phasma‘s trooper squad, then he makes an appearance alongside Spark of Hope’s Maul. Listen to hear how these two Mandalorian builds fared on the kitchen table. Then, I talk about a truly janky deck featuring General Grievous and three Commando Droids. With Ewoks being a viable Destiny burn deck, could red villain replicate that damage-out-of-hand success? More importantly, do you remember a card named Opening Volley?

Red Droid Burn

It’s not competitive, but it’s pretty fun! Here’s my take on a red villain “burn” deck. I’m actually going to try and remove some of the dice upgrades and replace them with more hate (damage from hand). Suggestions are always welcome!

This episode’s Booster Pack

I’ll be opening a brand new booster each episode and discussing the cards inside. Here’s this episode’s pull, from the one booster pack of Spark of Hope that was generously provided by Kingwood Hobbies.

Episode 21 Cracked Pack

Recovered Sith Lightsaber is a fine pull (giving me a full play set), and I’m excited to finally have a Jump To Lightspeed. Counterintelligence is a very solid red villain event; I immediately sleeved this copy up for my revamped Phasma/Mudtrooper deck.
