Fantasy Flight Games just announced a new draft set for Star Wars: Destiny, named Allies of Necessity, and I wanted to jump on the pod and talk about my excitement for the new set and drafting Destiny in general. I’m stoked for the new set’s characters, some cool color-based mechanics, and the inclusion of the game’s first -2 point plot. I walk you through the cards that were previewed in the article with some thoughts from the casual play standpoint. Then, I talk about a recent Way of the Force draft I held in hopes of building my Destiny community. Ultimately, I love the draft format of this game, and am really excited to have new options!
This episode’s AKA: Count Janku
New draft kit arrives in late February!

Way of the Force Draft w/ Friends
I staged a four-person draft from a brand new Way of the Force box at the end of January. I went 2-1 on the night, and here are my first three drafted cards from each of the two sets of boosters:

The 9-point Executioner allowed me to run a “rainbow” team (one red character, one blue, and one yellow), which maximized the card pool for building my deck. Underhanded Tactics is the only card shown here that I actually didn’t play with that night, as I was running melee-heavy characters. The other four cards certainly played a role in my success!
This episode’s Booster Pack
I’ll be opening a brand new booster each episode and discussing the cards inside. Here’s this week’s pull, from another Across the Galaxy booster:

I’m very happy to get my second copy of “Mauler” Mithel so that I can now run him elite. You can track this opening and previous booster openings over on the Cracked Packs page. I’m also excited to finally have a second red die show up in the segment.
